Re: Stand and Seal Health Problems

If there's ANYONE who hasn't heard yet, the NY TImes ran a front page story on Stand N Seal today. More accurately, it was about the CPSC, but the SNS problem was used to highlight the failures of the CPSC:

EDIT
For those unable to read the article from that link, try this one: After U.S. recall, a dangerous product stayed on the shelves - International Herald Tribune

Re: Stand and Seal Health Problems

It was on the front page of our local paper also. It didn't give a date this doctor did it though so I thought it may have been recently. I wonder if Depot still has any of it on the shelves?

All cans were supposed to have been removed from the shelves months ago, like earlier this past summer or late spring.

Re: Stand and Seal Health Problems

DENVILLE, N.J. — Walter E. Friedel’s plans to waterproof the tile floors of his hot tub room using Stand ’n Seal, a do-it-yourself product sold at his local Home Depot, promised to be a quick weekend project, one he could wrap up in time to catch the Giants football game on a Sunday afternoon.
I don't know what happened. I've been into that article about 2-3 dozen times this evening. Now all of the sudden they want a registration!!

Go figure!

Daris-- I take it your local paper is the Denver Post?

The New York Times has a limitation on their site that prevents many people, but not all, from reading the content. To have unfettered access, you must be a registered member and logged in.

Here are a couple of links that should lead to the article Bill mentioned. If one doesn't work, please try another. They are all supposed to be the same story.

Re: Stand and Seal Health Problems

If ANY of you happen to be in Home Depot, and see any cans of Stand N Seal on the shelves, please get in touch with either me or Shawn with a location. Shawn MAY ask you to buy the can, as well, for the receipt.

Our local Home Depot now has a new spray sealer product (offered by Custom Building Products) if my memory serves me correctly.
