Steve at this point I can only echo what others have already said! Good luck to you my friend, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance here.

Omaha is kind of a nifty little town, I'm sure you'll find it very warm and inviting. If you have the time while there, Omaha has a World Class Zoo with an indoor desert exhibit that is worth visiting. In fact there are three living deserts replicated within the world's largest Geodesic Dome. You should take a look while your there.

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo

A few miles south of Omaha is the SAC Museum, (Strategic Air Command) also an interesting place to spend some time. The first thing you see when you enter the building is an SR71A Blackbird airplane. I'm not talking about a model or a replica here. Hanging from the ceiling is the entire damned airplane.

The Strategic Air and Space Museum

At any rate have an Omaha Steak and enjoy your stay.

Don't know why I didn't include this in my original post. Here is a link to the website for the 2008 National Veterans Wheelchair Games

I emailed them asking for a link or download of the sponsorship form. I'll post it when I get it.

Re: Steve Hardy, Extraordinary Flooring Professional

Bud, my wife and I will take some time in between events and go visit those sites. Thank you very much for let me know that they're there. The last time I was in Omaha. I delivered some produce for my cousin. When you goes on vacation. I use the takeover is truck and make the runs for his two or three weeks vacation. But every time I've been to Omaha it's been in the dead of winter. But I think he plans that. I sent Jim an e-mail dictating from a letter I received from the San Diego beachcombers veteran services. That is the group I am going with them, because the San Diego spinal cord unit is my primary hospital now. It gives all the information about sponsorship. The only thing I wasn't able to give was the mailing address for San Diego I will get that Monday from recreational therapist. That is in charge of phone number for Kelly is in that letter but I will get the address and post. Rusty. Thank you also for recommending the zoo. I'm a little older and your son, but I'll probably be stuck viewing, The aquarium, because we have 150 gallon saltwater tank that I just love. And again thanks all you for your praise of all of us being self-employed, one way or the other you all have the same motivation to come back from a loss.

HAVE A GREAT DAY

Re: Steve Hardy, Extraordinary Flooring Professional

I'm a little late getting this post and I'm sorry. Steve forwared some more information about the Games:
It is again that time for the San Diego Beachcomber Wheelchair Sports Team to start preparing for this year's upcoming event:

The 28th Annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games

Every year, the VA San Diego Healthcare System helps to provide these disabled veterans with the opportunity to attend this event in support of their personal growth in developing a healthy leisure lifestyle. It gives veterans a chance to become aware of their abilities and promote a spirit of activity and fellowship. The estimated cost of this event per person is $1,300.00. We are asking for sponsorship for this upcoming event.

This year's National Veterans Wheelchair Games are July 25-29, to be held in Omaha, Nebraska. We plan to sponsor approximately 20 disabled veterans to attend this exciting event. These individuals will compete in up to 15 different sports - including track, quad rugby, air rifles, basketball and archery to name a few. The purpose of this event is to provide an introductory experience in a variety of wheelchair sports and to expose them to a multitude of organized sports and recreation activities available to individuals nationwide.

Through the Veterans Administration - VA volunteer services, we have a general post fund, #1278, set out for our established spinal cord injury outpatient wheelchair sports programs. All of these funds will go directly to our veterans for the National Veterans Wheelchair Games. Checks should be written out to VAVS GPF 1278. All donations are tax deductible. For further information, you may contact Kelli Kaliszewski at 858-642-3163. Your donations can be mailed to:
