While we agree that there are no barriers between installers and information, it is also up to the retailer being serviced by same installer to make information available; we usually end up polling the manufacturers independently to keep up with new product information; the reps are usually a great source of information, but most retailers in our market are only interested in the bottom line and who will do the cheapest job; we are considered "too expensive" by many, but we get called first when it is an important job or a warranty replacement. There are way too many hacks running around calling themselves installers, and no regulatory body to weed out the riff-raff.

Welcome .. I was just checking Craigs list .. there is a ad there for hardwood & tile installers .. New construction .. It's all typed in Spanish .. If i wanted to i couldn't even apply for a job in my own country in which i spent my time in the service ..
