Re: The Tale of the Tapes: a good article by Jon Namba

We've only bought Concord tape a couple of times. Back in the days when we were installing someone else's measure, there was one job of 70oz velvet saxony and the salesman ran the whole job with cross-seams. We ordered in the tape ~ that shop had at least 12-14 installers at the time, and everybody was standing around looking at the tape wondering wtf it was.

We recently quoted a Merlino wool sisal, manufacturer's specs call for 6" concord tape, but we were separately advised that a superior regular sized tape will suffice. We've never had a seam peaking problem. Any thoughts?

As I understand it, the print version is still available, if you want to buy it. I don't remember how much it is.
I still get it free, it says $17.00 on the cover.

They told me that only the old-timers from their forum could get the paper copies for free. I can't read the on-line.

Don't feel alone Rusty I can't either no matter what I do to blow up the print, it just gets more blurry.

I wonder how their advertisers would feel, if they knew we can't read the ads.
