I have a Tru Track iron I have only used twice. It is about 17 yrs. old. I bought it, then learned it's a 2 man iron. I work alone. I have kept it as a back up, and have decided to pare down and simplify. I don't need 2-3 of every tool I have.
Some pix. Can't quite see the red light in the 3rd pic, I think the green light shows in the last pic. You can see....minimal use! I assure you only twice!!!!
Pullled it out of a give away box just for you all. (seriously)
17 years old?? I think you hit the 1 as a mistake. They have only been on the market about 7 years.
I have one too. Along with a 6" Crain, that never gets used.
I have been in Idaho for 8 yrs. And I know that I bought it at least 4 years before I moved here. I'm going by which house I lived in when I bought it.
I took my CFI Certification in April of 2001, in Oklahoma City. James Hale had just purchased one of the Taylor "Weld" irons, that had just come out. The distributor the certification was being held at, had just received his first shipment. Ray Trapp was going around in 2002 certifying installers with the new "weld iron", and the now approved thermosealing. I saw the glue gun tips for the first time at the 2001 CFI Convention.
