Clutch plate for a 13" Clark buffer needed

I was given a buffer by a good friend. It's a small unit, a Clark FM 13 I believe. Neat little buffer and purrs like a kitten, but there was no buffer plate included. I can make a plywood base for it, but I need the metal locking mechanism.
Clutch head, clutch plate? ........... not sure what it's called. It's the metal ring that engages with the buffer connection.

clutch plate is the proper term. I haven't had much luck with searches for clutch plates though.

Is the "clutch plate" the entire unit or just the metal locking mechanism?

Nylon sounds good to me. I checked out the name, but didn't find a website.

I made my own plywood base for mine when I wanted a hard plate. I just swapped the hub from one to the other.
Floor Service supply is a California wood Distributor, now that I think about it, I can't remember what the name of the place.

I'll check locally at a janitorial supply place on Monday to see how much they want. In the mean time, I'm going to borrow a plate from the guy that gave me the buffer. I've had this for about a year and this is the first time since then I felt like I needed to use it. I figured the customer could just lightly mop the new VCT and wax it. My janitorial guy said no, that I need to clean it with the scrubbing pad first. He knows his stuff, so I'm gonna listen.

Those plates are $6-7 here.

I don't see anyone buffing new installations to apply a finish coat. It's probably what's in the specs but nobody is doing it on commercial work from my half vast experience.

The exception would be when they let all the trades thrash the floor and it's necessary to buff out some of the deeper scratches, stains and dirt. I have seen it done on rare occasions.
