Tigressa Reviews

Hi All, this is my first post. i have been looking for new carpets and have narrowed it down to where i know i want nylon and durable. I currently have a twist and i really don't like how it gets matted so badly. The whole process has given me a headache with all the choices and i have no desire to do this again in 5yrs.

I came across the Tigressa today, offering a 50% off price of the material only. I was quoted 2.85 a sq foot installed and in my quote it says Shobi Tigressa, i can't find this in a google anywhere. I love the feel and found a color that is perfect but can't find a whole lot of information on the carpet though online?? The only thing right now that i know about it, is that is has a 3 star rating and its nylon. If anyone has knowledge of the wear/durability (i have 2 kids and 2 dogs) and stain resistancy it would be very much appreciated!

Maybe it's private labeled to make it more difficult to shop around. Who is the manufacturer (probably Shaw) and what store did you find it at?

Hello jg28, the carpet you are looking at is a private lable product from Carpet One and Flooring America. It is a Shaw carpet. You get more then just the Shaw warrenty with this product, it fits under the Beautyful promise, if for any reason you do not like the carpet they will change it for free, this even includes labor. Depending on the level it goes from 30 days to 120 days for you to deside.
It is a nice product.

I did see something about a satisfaction guarantee, i have read a few of the carpet threads on here and sounds like with the warranty's though you can pretty much only take them with a grain of salt.. if they honor that for any reason though, its a great deal. If you think its a good product as well, that is even better. Thanks!

Minus labor costs

Why buy something that the manufacturer doesn't want you to critique, infatuate, share with friends with on line?
What are they protecting if it's exclusive? Is it?

Sometimes I think the manufacturers are all of our worst enemy.

Oritz34, That is what is making me a little nervous! I would of thought at least the Carpet One website would of had this product online for me to view and maybe it does at a higher price (i could kick myself for not writing all the information down). I figured the cost for this one was $3.14 a sf when not on sale, but in their website the cheapest one they have starts at 3.50. It just had me wondering if the quality of the ones they offer in these half off deals are not as good as their normal line.

They were also offering a stainmaster. Are all stainmaster carpets generally really good? Because i zeroed in on the tigressa i have no information on the stainmaster except it was very similiar in look and feel, and also a 3 star rating, but 400 more total cost installed. Its not much, but put me a little over budget.

I believe they both have the look i am going for, my biggest concern is wondering how it will hold up over time and the matting. I am hoping to get something that will still look decent in 5-6 yrs if i decide at somepoint to sell. They still have to come out and measure, and he is bringing the samples again with him but i like to do my homework in advance and read up on things outside of what the sales person is telling me. Being a single woman i don't trust anyone, difference in cost between my 1st & 2nd quotes for the same quality carpet was right around 1k! 1st guy totally tried to take me for a ride. This will be my 3rd quote. Again... the headache, it was easier purchasing the home. Thanks for your replies!

What was the name of the regular one so I at least have a idea what we are dealing with here.
A few here might sell tigeessa and chime in. I by all means am not calling it a bad carpet. It just would be nice to compare what YOU are buying. Not what they want to protect themselves with private labeling.
Carpet one dealers are typically reputable but they are run independent. Oh and most owners do very well, very well
