I thought they were referring to Whitaker or similar as being acceptable, i.e counter-rotating cylindrical brushes. Isn't the Cimex a 2 or 3 head disk/plate type?

Whittaker ,gls ,host cylindrical. 175 , cimex , rx 20 they are they spin just like a rotary. I belive the torque gives it less resistance. With the cimex you could clean a rag rug without moving it all over. I could put a 3 headed type disc plate on my 175 for that matter. Wont have the same torque resistance a cimex though.

Re: Asphalt on new carpet.

I cut some carpet up today on an asphalt driveway. No one told me it had just been poured yesterday. After carrying the first piece in I noticed a pool of tar right where I had cut it. Uh oh. I went back in and rolled it out and sure enough there was a big black splotch right in the middle of the master bedroom. The tile guy was getting some run off from his saw so "helpfully" rolled the piece up out of the way so it wouldn't get wet. I never had a chance to see it. I thought I was screwed but I worked on it with some Afta cleaning solvent and it went right away. I tried to blot as much as I could off the back too, but I doubt I did much good as it was sofbac and really soaked it up. I think the area I cleaned will be fine but I'm afraid of the spot on the back soaking through.

On a side note I did a 74yd new construction house today with no seams and only one closet. I'm pretty sure that was a first, man it went fast. I was out of there in about 4 hours, would have been quicker but for the stain problem and the heat kicking me in the arse.
