Peter you are correct I got the two mixed up. Both out about the same time. The 501 was the nylon, and Kodel was the poly. Remember how fast the poly would smash down and entangle? You couldn't get it back up with a pry bar, but it sure did not wear out.

The 501 was a first generation nylon, and would show soiling like under a microscope.

My experience living with it was you did not need a microscope!
The traffic lanes weren't so shiny after about a month.
