Schluter Systems Kerdi Installations Part I

OK...I assume that at least SOME folks her are conversant with Schluter Systems Kerdi Showers. Who actually DOES them and what is your experience WITH them?

Folks, this is "Cutting Edge" stuff. Yeah, I have (and do) traditional mud showers, but I've been "Schluterized!" I attended a recent seminar in Greenville, S.C. where I was baptised into the 21st Century!

Here's a clue, call your local Schluter Rep and tell him you want to attend the next training program. You need to pay your way up & back....but Schluter will pick up EVERYTHING else! Figure a 5 star hotel....all the meals, and anything else.

Trust this: They Treat You Like Royalty! (And you'll learn somethin'!)

The John Bridge Forum recently had about 60 attendees at their seminar....and it was VERY Worth While!

We were Schluterized a couple years back, and been doing them since. We did a steam shower recently. Check it out.

I have not built a Kerdi shower yet. Not that I am opposed to it, but its seems the few showers I built the last years don't lend themselves to trying it for the first time. That's what Bud told me anyway . Actually I am looking forward to a normal 3 sided 3' x 4' to give it a try.

I like Schluter stuff and have been using Ditra for several years now.

re: Schluter Systems Kerdi Installations Part I

Been doing Schluter showers for five or six years, they are the only way to go for me these days. If I can't do Schluter I won't do the shower.

In Jerry's case I would never discourage anyone doing a Schluter shower but Jerry was getting into a pretty nice package and there is a learning curve with the Schluter products that a guy wouldn't want to put into effect on a weird shower without a little experience first..

Jerry~ Don't be afraid of the Schluter/Kerdi showers. Once you do one, you'll never go back!

You know I don't think it matters what type of shower it is; if it can be done with Kerdi it's the right type of shower to do Kerdi with.

It is the ONLY way we will bid a shower anymore, I just feel like it eliminates the liability or risk of waterproofing a shower as long as it is done properly
