Schluter Systems' Schluter REMA - concealed access panels


I've built access panels many different ways and I like this system the best. Schlüter-REMA - Schlüter-Systems

This is the last one I did using an 18 x 18 tile. The pump motor had to be relocated from the left side to the right and I had a plumber pissed for a while ...... Oh well, I'm used to catching heat.....

I had to laugh a few years ago when I saw that Schluter was marketing that system. I've been doing that very thing for more than twenty-five years using magnetic cabinet latches and some imagination. Hell I could have been rich.

Cabinet latches is what I had been using... the kind that snapped together......

I also do basically the same thing, but without latches of any kind. it's late right now, so I'll post tomorrow and show some step by step pics of one of my access panels.
