Self leveling Question

I am a new member and a do-it-yourselfer, My question is, I put cement board down on the plywood floor and now I am going to put self leveler on top of the cement board. Do I still need to tape and mud the joynts of the cement board, also should I still prime the cement board. Thanks in advance

i would start by asking what your final floor covering will be??? Ceramic Tile I am assuming??? Did you use mortar under your Backer Board???? Is your floor in such bad shape you need an SLC????

The floor cover will be tile, I did use a thin set under the board. The only reason I am using the SLC is because I am putting radiant heat wire in and want a skim coat on the wire plus I do have about an 1/8" low spot

Specs call for tape and mud on the joints, and most SLC's also call for primer.

Ok got it. I would tape the joints etc because the SLC will find any and every hole and fill it or sometimes run places you dont want it, so make sure all holes etc are prefilled. Priming is a must for all the SLCs I have worked with.
