Tip for reducing Spam
here is a tip that should reduce the amount of spam you get in your e mail ..
When you type in your e mail address on a site EXAMPLE .. your_name@address.com
Type your_name at address dot com .. the people can read it , but the spybots can not pick up on it ..

Re: Tip for reducing Spam
Great tip, Nick. There are other ways people have used to show their address without making a link to it too. Disguising the address has reduced the amount of spam, but mailbots and address sniffers have gotten more sophisticated over time. Some can even decipher your disguised address.
Here at TheFloorPro.com, we use a technique for hiding your email address so that the only way someone can know your address is if you reply to an email sent from here. So, when you allow email from members in your forum options, it will never show, eve to those who click on it to send you mail.
Some people choose to have their email address in their signatures, or post it in a message, but that just invites spam. You should just tell people to click on your name and then the link to email you (or send a PM).
Excellent topic, Nick, thanks.

Re: Tip for reducing Spam
I'm embarrassed Nick. I'm not sure what you are telling me to do. Use an underscore halfway through? I hate being the slow kid in class...

Re: Tip for reducing Spam
That was my edit, sk. You can use hyphens and underscore characters in your name, or you can use your whole name with no spaces, but you can't use a name with spaces in it for an email address.
What Nick was trying to suggest is not to post the actual address on the message boards. It becomes a clickable link that is easy for anyone to use to send you malicious email. A mailbot doesn't click links, but it does read whole addresses and adds them to a database of addresses they use to spam you and to sell to other spammers. By disguising your address, by using words instead of the dot character and others, you make it a little more difficult for the mailbots, but people can usually figure out what the address is.
Well, most people anyway.

mcafee removal tool
1. Download the removal tool from http://download.mcafee.com/products/...tches/MCPR.exe.
2. Click Save and save the file to any folder on the computer.
3. Navigate to the folder where the file is saved.
4. Double-click MCPR.exe.
5. Click Run. A Command Line window will be displayed, and then close automatically. Wait for a second Command Line window to be displayed.
Note: Do not double-click MCPR.exe again, you may have to wait up to 1 minute for the next window to appear.
After the second window appears, the program will begin the cleanup.
6. Observe the installation, which could take several minutes. The following message will be displayed in the Command Line window:
The machine must reboot to complete the un-installation. Reboot now? [y.n]
7. Press Y on the keyboard.
8. Wait for the computer to restart.
All McAfee products are now removed from your computer.
