Re: Can not post pictures

From the mosque topic? I see you posted several images. I am doing a backup of the server right now because am moving and want to make sure I get a good backup before I lose my connection. Sorry, that's probably the problem. It's pretty intensive on the server.

Re: Can not post pictures

I cannot post pictures from my Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0. When I am posting and go to upload the pictures the program or pictures will not appear for resizing or posting. What am I doing wrong?

It does that to me too, if I try to load too many pictures at once. I can only load 2 at a time, and wait for them to load, then browse for 2 more and then load them and then browse for 2 more and load them. I get that same message if I go over 2 at a time.

Re: Can not post pictures

There are only certain file extensions that can be used for uploading, JPG (which includes JPE and JPEG), GIF, PNG and BMP for images and PDF and TXT for text type files. I'm not sure that Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition uses any of those image files. You are also limited to images that are 750 x 750 pixel dimensions and 146 KB file sizes or smaller.

I have uploaded as many as 6 images in tests, but all of them together were less than 146 KB. Even though each file can be 146 KB or smaller, the upload feature may not distinguish between one or 6 images when tallying the file size limit.

If more people would use the Gallery program, I would upgrade it to allow for larger sizes. That may just take more time to get used to.

If you have more specific information concerning the images you try to upload and fail, let me know. The properties of these files should tell you file size, dimensions, file extension and more.

Re: Can not post pictures

You should use an image editing program before sending them up on the Web. You should be able to reduce the file size and dimensions. Most cameras come with programs to do this and there are a number of free ones available.

Re: Can not post pictures

Tandy, you can save the image in adobe as a JPG or JPEG 200 file. We you select the file type from the save window box, it will open a box with a slew of different types of formats. Click the JPEG and a second box will open for the resolution (size). If you save it at 1 or 2 it should be small enough to post. I always rename the file before saving it. When you go to close adobe, it will ask if you want to save whatever pictures you opened that session. Click "NO" on all of them, if you have renamed the files, or it will replace your original shots with the new ones. I only use the adobe program for placing arrows or text in pictures. I do not like the way you have to do so many clicks to do simple tasks.

I actually find it far easier to use the Microsoft Picture Viewer and use either the compress or resize functions. On some pictures, I will also crop them so only what pertains to the discussion shows. They have a couple of preset compression/resizes. Usally eithe rof the "Web" settings shrink the picture enough to post.
