I can't open it either. I wouldn't expect to though. I get a message that says I have performed an illegal operation and the Sheriff is coming to close down my computer then ""POOF"" the page closes.

Still on dialup? If Roland is too, that might be the problem, although it shouldn't matter. It's a standard PDF file. Everyone who has Adobe Reader should be able to open the file. You might also want to check your browser preferences to see how it is set to handle PDF files - open in the same window, open in a new window, whatever. I have mine set to open in a new tab of the browser.

First update Windows .. If you are using Internet Explorer make sure you are using ie 6 or 7 .. Haven't seen this error since win 98 ..
could be your software needs to be updated with new drivers .. Here is a free download that will update all your Drivers [etc]. for you , and should fix the problem .. VersionTracker Pro for Windows
It is a conflict between the way MS wants a program to open , and the way the software wants to .. let me know if this does it for you ..

I'll try it Nick. I can tell you that I have always been able to open pdf's without a hitch but lately I've had issues with everything. Had a guru here last night that was able to get me back into my invoices that somehow went away for a few days. I'll try some other pdf's somewhere and see what happens.

Still looking at new computers, just having trouble turning loose of another grand, not too much work on the books right now.

YES I Did Tandy, Thank You.

Nick the download and scan are free the updates cost $30. I ran the scan and had 11 versions out of date but it found "0" drivers out of date. So now what do I know that I didn't know before? Whatever all that means""".

Go Ahead! Laugh at me! Every time I mention my system to someone they laugh at me. Hell even SLT laughed at me yesterday when I mentioned my W98. What does he know? Hell he thought it was snowing at his house.

Re: Here is the final (almost) version of the agenda

Said i haven't seen that error since win 98 , Lo and behold .. Support for win 98 has been stopped for some time now Bud .. you can try The System File Checker that might help you track the source of your problem ..
go to the Start menu > Programs > Accessories and System Tools .. Open the System Information program and look under the Tools menu to find the utilities ..
System File Checker can restore damaged sys files .. you can also try installing the software again if that doesn't work .. Do you remember the last time it was working ok , and what you installed after that ? if the out of date versions are of software you can go to their site and update them .. How much ram do you have , and what is your processor speed Bud , if you have enough we can just install Xp on it ..

Re: Here is the final (almost) version of the agenda

My Guru did all that last night but we never gave a thought to the pdf thing, that hadn't been an issue until now.

I'll just wait until the new box gets here. I'm still trying to understand what I need (want). Thanks for the help though I appreciate it.

I have had broadband for about two months now but it isn't hooked up either. They sent a service man to do the install but no one told me he was coming so I got home one day and there was a "Sorry We Missed You" on the door. Then I decided to take the plunge and buy a new computer so I just left it lay. It'll all come together one day if I live long enough.

Everything was working fine less than two weeks ago. The only thing I've done was try to install the FireFox 3.0 which I didn't know at the time wasn't supported by W98.

I know I know I know
