Thanks. One more question, did the adhesive dull the finish from being left on to dry. People are all the time asking if this can be done.

No Jerry , But that is not to say what the effect would be on a different finish .. this was on two days before i noticed it .. it was the little area at the bottom of the steps i have to do this week in 2 1/4 strip .. Did the upstairs in the strip also .. I can post you their tech number if you like ? it is one heck of a glue .. I just checked out your web page .. You do really nice work .. If you don't mind me asking , what did the Festool set you back ? and how does that track stay secure to the floor ? ..

Thank you Nick. I'm no better than anybody else on here. You guys are the ones who teach me. I have never been to a formal class. I learn from you and the other more experienced installers and thats why I ask alot of questions at times. But thats OK, I am just trying to gain more knowledge.

The Festool saw, router and guides were around 1000.00 I think. I don't remember exactly. I do know one thing, it will pay for itself if you offer each client some custom touches. It is fun for me and pays well.

The guides have a non slip bottom, all you do is lay them down and connect them together. They will not move one iota. They also have an anti-chip feature, very nice setup.

Just did a solid glue down and missed a few spots of glue .. tried everything , nothing .. i called their tech support and the guy that tests cleaners for their glue said to get a Mr clean magic eraser and use it in conjunction with wd 40 or mineral spirits .. Sum of a gun if it didn't do the job ..
That really works Nick. I recently use Mapei 990 adhesive and when I did my clean up I tried using the magic Erasers along with a terry cloth rag and Mapei adhesive cleaner. I put the eraser on top of the rag and when I hit a spot that would not come off .... I hit it a few times with the eraser and the spots came off with ease. I have been promising Jim that I would try to come up with an article for something and on this job I had plenty of time to take photos of different issues. i may try to put something together on glue down installs and let other guys with more experience add more content to it.... sort of a cheat sheet to go by.
