Scuffs in vinyl floors
For repairing scuffs in vinyl floors, I have found that using Street shoe finish for satin, low gloss or gloss on a rag will really help reduce the appearance of the scuff, in alot of cases it will make it disappear completely. I use 2 rags one I put the Street shoe finish on and then I wipe the area and use the clean rag to wipe the area clear of excess Street shoe finish around the scuffed area.

Doesn't TyKote soften, and etch the existing finish, to give it a tooth for the finish to bond??
Got any good pictures with glare across the effected area?

Re: Scuffs in vinyl floors
looking for the pics in my old cds, I should re-phrase my original post I use the Street shoe finish, not the Tycote cleaners on the scuffed area.

Re: Scuffs in vinyl floors
Well I have not been called back because of the scuffs, so I would ahve to say yes.
When you do work for builders, you have to come up with some innovative ideas to keep them happy, I will not install for them here anymore, they only pay like 2.50 or sofor carpet. then they want you to be responsable for floor sqeuaks cause they are to lazy to walk the house before they call for flooring.
They cant prove who did the damage so they have to eat it or bust an installer for it if they can. So if I can I save the job!! Street shoe is just water based urethane. I was gonna try the stuff in the Bruce wood kits one time, but wasnt sure about that, it gets tacky real fast.

Re: Scuffs in vinyl floors
Try using a little mineral spirits on a rag. A quick wipe will remove the scuff and not damage the flooring.
