Dobby,

I was going to comment on that to but decided against it. I am not totally convinced that the voices in the background are floorcovering people. It would not surprise me though if they were.

As far as cuts in the existing carpet I seriouly doubt if there are any. Scott is a professional and a CFI installer.

Rob
I always use a scissors and make a little cut.

Sometimes its better if you don't switch sides. I know a guy that won't on any product. His seams turn out great.

Daris
I don't switch side either. It makes a better seam to keep them on the same side......

Why isnt he using a loop pile cutter instead of a top cutter?

Wanna impress me Forrest? Do a 30 ft seam and show us how to deal with the bow
I've had horrible luck with those loop cutters. I always use a top cutter.

This looks like an extremely easy carpet to find a row in, not exactly the one most installers would need a demo on how to install. Maybe dealing with bow and skew would be more effective.

I agree, show us a 30' run like that. Also do it 2" in from the end of the roll, where it has been crushed and mangled from shipping. We can't always go in 2' from the end to find a straight run.

I have a hard time believing that you won't see a 2'' strip as well as a less than perfect seam. You could see the strip in that 2' demo piece...can you imagine what it would look like in 20 feet? If it's not perfect it will look like a major screw up.
