1-Step Carpet Seaming & Sealing Seam-Weld Tru-Trak

Unique welding head applies hot melt to carpet seam edges for faster carpet installation and a stronger seam with no need for separate seam sealing. This video is produced by Taylor Tools.

I realize it was just for demonstration but, the last foot of the seam wouldn't be sealed the way he did it, if the adhesive comes out the back of the iron to seal the edges.

I believe that to be a old video. The man doing the seam [Keith Pulpolski] is a young man. He looks much older now the last time I saw and talked to him.
Anyway it is a good system but it takes a lot of practice to get the amount of time you can rest and work the seam without getting that excessive amount of glue in the seam line.
Did you notice that there was no tackless down, or the pad hadn't been cut in yet? That could work to get it tight to the wall.
Rusty I'm sure the last foot of seam is not as strong on any seam, no matter what the system.
Incidently Keith is their tool maker or engineer, I guess he has a shop to die for.

Used to use this iron...never could get enough of the hot melt on to the seam. Not exactly a great system. The little light on the back of the iron was really nice though. can't beat a koolglide though.
