Wonder why he didn't use a sharp blade in that knife?

Using a sharp blade was the least of the problems in this video. No seam sealer? No row cutting? No Roller? No pre-cutting (beyond the one side)? No stretching or re-stretching?

It's really a shame there are more videos on how to do something wrong than how to do it right.

He may have seam sealed even though we didn't see it. There was an Orcon glue gun in the first part of the video.
That guy would think he had died and went to heaven with a Koolglide I bet.
He definitely needed a new blade.
I always prefit it all before I even start a patch. One thing I did notice is how he got the iron out. I found a little trick there. If you run the iron in reverse or backwards you can heat the tape far under the end and just pull the iron out as if finishing a seam. Worked for me many times.

What I liked about it was the duct tape he didn't remove from the back of the patch piece.

Wow, that was painful to watch even. That repair actually looked a lot better than it had any right to.

Was the guy doing the talking the same guy from those mobile home carpet videos?

I do not think so Rusty. When I go to the site it makes it look like he is in Garden City Idaho (a small city within the Boise city limits).
The contractors license number is a CA number I thing. It is nowhere near the license numbers that Idaho uses.
Also the training is in CA.
Can you believe this is a real franchise
And the numbers he gives $1000 - $1500 per day

Damn!! the guy gets around he is here about 7-10 miles from my house. Funny thing though he has a license number and Michigan don't require it.

Re: how to patch berber carpet... NOT!

The website uses a JavaScript applet from Google to determine where you are located, based on your IP address. It then makes the second line of the home page appear to any visitor that the company is just a short distance away.

Further into the website, he indicates that the license is in California. I couldn't find where he actually used the JavaScript to fool anyone into believing the license was from their state, but the absence of the name of the state on several pages could fool the reader into believing the license number is from their state.

I'm sure he thinks this is all a legitimate marketing ploy, but it smacks of deceit to me.
