Signatures can be turned off when you crate a new topic or reply - just click the box that says, "Show your signature" in the Quick Reply message box or the regular Reply or New Topic window, in the section bellow the message editor called Additional Options. To remove a signature when you edit a message, you have to click Edit, then the Go Advanced buttons first. Some people choose to shaw their signature in every post, some don't. Whatever you choose is fine.

Are you not supposed to roll seams? I always use my smooth roller and never have problems.

Yes they should be! Smooth roller with heat and you can use a star roller without heat or after seam is totally cool.

Yeah, just making sure. I don't care how much weight you have, I still want that seam rolled by hand.

are we supposed to use a smooth roller on loop pile carpet now too? Last I heard was star for loop smooth for cut.
Only use the roller to make the seam flat, correct? It's not designed to replace weight? Something about distorting the hot seam if too much pressure is applied.

yes kinda, it also put's/spreads glue into the backing as it rolls, also meshes the two pieces together (cosmetics)....like a steam roller on the road.....

I just never bought a smooth roller because when they told me (what, 15 years ago?) that star rollers would mess up cut pile carpet but I could just use my fingers I learned how to do it like that. I don't use a tray/weight/etc, I kneel on a piece of very clear maple plywood. My seams were weak when I weighed 185 but now at 210lbs they are very strong!
very interested in the SDN tho, and if a flat roller makes that work better then they can go along as a set.

Start doing it. It works great and I do it every time now. Although I had been putting the tape sideways on top of the other tape, not underneath like Roland. Is there any reason I should be puttin it under?
|
dunno , on "t" seams i cut off the main enough to compensate/(the width of tape) fur the tape going from it. i do not overlap any tape. because the glue won't hold to the backing . just my thoughts/theory. since i've seen them come apart with it installed that way on pull ups ............
