Great little video, I do most of my free hand coving in a similar way but with metal cap.

Tape works great for coving if you can afford it.

So what are you guys getting per foot for coving now ? The rates seem to be dropping real fast around the parts of the country I get to. $ 3.50 per foot ? really ????

Am I out to lunch thinking thats low if I'm supplying stick and cap ?

That makes me feel better, I have been at $9.00 for quite awhile and would hate to think rates that low are headed this way.

5 per foot in Boise. There is one store that only pays 3.50 but furnishes the stick and cap.

Same store only pays 1.00 for welding. But the going rate is btwn 2.50 and 3.50 per foot for welding.

I have always been able to make good money coving and welding even when all other installation rates where dropping, I suppose cove and weld is next to go down.

Boy you hit the nail on the head. When i first moved here only a few people welded, now there are quite a few who do, only plus side is most of them really are bad at it, burnt welds etc, over grooved seams, double welds etc. It wont be long before home owners are welding.
