Re: Best and Worst for the Week
Thanks, Peter. I think the second one will get more mileage here.
But then, I can see a few wanting to use the first one ... especially CP.
But then again, DJ would probably like the third one ...

Re: Best and Worst for the Week
I hate cats!!! I guess I get to add my 2 cents in on the worst of the week. day year or 43 years.
I was commissioned to make a rug and deliver it. Well today was the day to deliver it.
First off the appointment was set for 12 am. I got there at 11:59. Rang the door bell and waited and waited. Rang it again and the same thing. I had the customers son's cell number so I called it. He was the one who was susposed to meet me. The cell went into voice mail. Did I say I hated those fur balls called Cats?? Went back to van and conferred with my help. He said wait 15 and try again. I said BS and went back and beat the crap out of the door again. Finally after a few more minutes the kid came down. He is probably 23 or so. I woke his A$$ up.
As soon as I stepped into the door the smell hit me. Yuck. Where is that puking smilie? Anyway we have to roll up the old rug and cut it into strips and put it at the curb. Yuck again. Freaking Cat. Now comes the old pad. Did I say the old rug was so used that the seams were coming apart from the whiz. I hate cats!! The old pad is a rubber flat pad that is deteriorating into sand. Ya pick it up and it runs out the roll. Well on the last piece I flipped it onto the cart that we were using to haul it to the curb and guess what? The air that was trapped in the roll shot all that powery cat whizzed crap back into my face, up my nose in my eyes and best of all in my mouth. Now I'm spitting and gagging and really bit-hing up a storm. My help was laughing his butt off. I couldn't rinse out my mouth enough and wash my hads and face.
It still feels like I have sand in my mouth even after brushing my teeth and gargling. I HATE CATS!! Put puking smilie #3 here!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Best and Worst for the Week
yep, i like #3 daris, i feel your pain been there i too hate cats make's me glad i try no longer to do "replacements" there is something about cat's and their urine that gives me a instant attitude (hot day why did i choose this career?) maybe i should change my signature to "customers with cats may change rate's" powdered rubber pad is bad enough a cat soaked mouthful has just got to really really suck(no pun intended)

Oh, Daris, we REALLY feel your pain. A shot of Jack Daniels should take that gritty feeling out of your throat. (Thanks for the great laugh).

Re: Best and Worst for the Week
ditto on cats
I pulled up a small hallway recently(8x8) that was so soakedI wouldnt even crawl on it.I cut it and pulled it out with channel locks, dragged it up thier stairs and threw it outside, the pad got poked into a bag.The customer asked if it was bad,I told her it was one of the worst ever.I came back two days later,so the place could air out(she sprayed some enzyme on it) and it still REEKED.I dont know how some people can live like that.
Dogs too
I pulled up one where the dog whizzed so much on the bottom stair, that it rotted the knewl post.SWEET job that was, 90 degrees and humid, whizz soaked carpet.I thought I was gonna faint.I couldn't tell what was worse the stink of the carpet or the old bar scag, chain smoking Luckys in the kitchen.
peace jim

Re: Best and Worst for the Week
I did one where the customer had three poodles . when you walked on the cpt you could hear the squishing sound .
Don't you know they were peeing on the new cpt as i was installing it . i told the lady and her reply was that's OK . Well not for me . I shot them a few times with the electric gun . that got rid of them till i finished the job .
Have to agree with you Semaj . I don't know how people live like that .
