If you have a sense of style and a good eye for color, I need your help picking out a good color for a roll of carpet. It has to coordinate with the color scheme we have here in the forum. I have picked one already and its color is based on the color our links turn when you hover over them. But I think it's just a bit too much red/orange. So, I thought I'd ask some of you to help me out. Here's what I have and it will probably look almost identical to this, just with a better color:
Thanks for any help you can give me. You can post pictures or links to pictures that you think show the color you want me to consider. But don't name the color because, as most of you already know, there are a great many variations of colors.
Your on the right track in the red family. Need a color in a heavier shade. My suggestion would be to have the darker color in the carpet roll to be the same as the elf's, at the top of the screen, shoes.

Re: Help me pick a carpet color
Who needs to remember? One large regional box store, whose ame starts with M and ends with enard's, is advertising candy stripe on kanga back for 29 cents per sq.ft.
Which of you installers wants to get the call to install 500ft or more in a basement with seams? Guess who they'll blame when they don't like the looks of those seams?
On the other hand...
Okay, here's a new color to ponder. It's difficult to get one to match Dobby or Peter's examples because of the texture of the carpet, but I hope I've come up with a happy medium.
Roger, it won't be on a green background. In fact, the background color is barely visible in the image - on the ends. That is also a kind of texture. It's supposed to resemble a bare concrete floor. This is actually a small part of a new style/skin for the forum. A new version of the forum software is coming out soon and it will require some significant changes - enough to think this might be a good time to try my hand at skinning.
Let me know your thoughts on this new carpet color - or suggest any others we can try.
I actually just used one of the font colors from the color tabs. don't know how to get to the "mix your own color" selection. I might have posted Barney purple if I could have found it (this is the only purple smiley!)
Funny you mention candy stripe because, believe it or not, it's the hottest product in our show room. It's gotten so bad, we had to make new samples from job ends because the sample was always out. One slight exception instead of twenty-nine cents a square foot this is eleven-fifty plus cushion and labor.
The great thing about this stuff is, it matches everything you place beside it. Honestly, I think this may be the single greatest design in the history of carpet. But hey, what do I know, I'm on my way to the bank!
