This discussion, "Big orange floors", in Flooring Potpourri (part of the category The Professional Forums), begins, "Check out the first story on Consumer complaints about Home Depot Floors..."
I don't think they will get much on the dog urine. I read the whole page. It don't sound to good. I think a lot of the complaints were basically centralized by area.

We were going to have a HD start building here real soon, but at the last minute, they backed out.............. something wierd to do with the drainage off the property....... so they said. I guess it was a liability issure because of DEQ. The store would have been located 100 feet fron the bay.
No biggie... I wasn't looking forward to what they might do to the carpet trade around here.

Sure puts the "Big box stores are killing the flooring trade" in perspective...
Obviously every store is different, but bad service will absolutely ruin a business. I doubt the home depot will be going out of business, but at least good local contractors will profit from their ineptness.
I'm always amazed at how people are mad when they are at the home depot because they can't find anyone to help them. Then, they will hire the depot to install flooring and they're surprised when the service is lousy.
I was in Toledo last week doing a Koolglide/CFI training for Lowe's and showed the HD thing to the regional manager. He said there is one simular to that for Lowe's called "Lowe's Woes". I didn't try to find it but with the internet it is very easy to put your problems with anyone out there for all to read.
I'm sure there isn't a retailor out there that hasn't had a complaint at one time or another. Just now everybody knows about it.
