Re: Jim

Awww shucks, Roland, thanks.

'Course, I think you just like that I told so many great lies about you. Roland Thompson, CFI Chapter 25 President 2002-2008 | Delmarva Chapter of CFI

Okay, so they weren't lies, but that page was one of the toughest I've ever had to write. I'll be glad when Tom (or whoever) gets broke in to start doing the content like this. It's almost like posting messages on a forum. In fact, if each of the members just write their own stories, that would make publishing them on the site much easier - and quicker. Just use a text editor (Windows NotePad) to write the story or article and email that and the pictures to me or the chosen publisher and it'll get done.

Anyway, I'm very glad you like the site. It's getting traffic and already beginning to be indexed on Google and other search engines. Take for instance, Pat Fell. I wrote that page just a few weeks ago and he has had stuff published on the FlooringInstaller.com, National Floor Trends and FCI websites for years. But doing a search on the late, great Mr. Fell puts the DelmarvaCFI.org website on the very top of the Google results page: Pat Fell - Google Search I'm guessing a search for Roland Thompson will do the same in a few weeks time.

If you do a search for CFI in Delaware: CFI in Delaware - Google Search #3 (no. 2 if you use Delaware CFI)
CFI in Maryland: CFI in Maryland - Google Search #10 (no. 7 if you use Maryland CFI)
CFI in Virginia: CFI in Virginia - Google Search #5 (oops, #8 if you use Virginia CFI)

The point is, in a very short time, your website is getting great results for very good search terms. Just typing in "Certified Floorcovering Installers" (without the quotes) puts you at #6, which is better than a whole lot of pages (about 267,000) that have been around a lot longer. Your chapter website is on the same results page with the main CFI site.

Okay, now I'm just bragging. Is there a rule about advertising your business here someplace???

Best R'gards,

Jim

Rules are only a guide aren't they? You are allowed to bend them at certain times aren't you?
