Surfaces

I just talked to Jane Walker at Surfaces in Vegas. She said that there is not a lot of people there. They have even pulled in the amount of space that the show uses both up and downstairs. So there aren't as many exhibitors as well as people. She said people that were exhibitors last year are just walking around. Economy has reached the manufacturer world also.
I'm sure tomorrow there will be more people as this is the first day.

Re: Surfaces

Yes you can tell #'s are still down. With that being said there are some good seminars and the vendors can take time with you. I still so far feel it is worth my time.

You also have to remember that the world of concrete and the big furniture mart are going on at the same time, you have many dealers that have both so they are trying to go back and forth.

Re: Surfaces

I made it back to the cold and snowy country I live in. It sounded like we blew out a tire on the plane when we landed though.
I went through Surfaces in about 4 hours today so it is much smaller than last year. Some of the booths combined together with smaller sellers to share the cost of the space. The number of people there was way down also which allowed you to get around faster. Finally met Mr. Perkins and Robert Varden.
The IICRC meeting on Monday was worth the trip in itself with all the info from the speakers there and the Carl Williams memorial lunch. It started about 8 am and I didn't get out of there til 7 pm. Best monday meeting I have ever been to and we had about 70 people that were there.
The CRI booth wasn't the same since Daris wasn't there. Good show though and you could get cheap rooms. I booked a week ago and it was still cheap.

Re: Surfaces

Surface's was very SMALL and Very ORIENTAL, Smallest show I have been to in 15 years..Had to go to the WORLD OF CONCRETE to see ardex, And there was a better showing of tools(concrete tools) there. Even Moister Meters tools where there, but not many at surfaces.....

Mondays seminar was 1 of the Best I have been too, The speakers where great, And I have to say this Jim Walker opened alot of Inspectors eyes, What a Show he presented, The Class really listened to him with all eye's and ears, He was just plain AWESOME in what he spoke about...
