Wow, I look like a hand model next to you guys. If i'm doing a lot of carpet I will get some rough knuckles but then a good week of vinyl and they're back to normal. I always laugh when I see other flooring installers whose hands are rather "primate-ish".

Here are my hands. I don't get it...32 years and aside from dirty nails, no callouses, and my knees are good like Mark said.

Soft goods mostly, right?

It's stuff like Altro safety floors and some of those rough back carpet that tears me up. Hell, any carpet that you have to stretch tears my knuckles up.

But after polestretch's photo I feel like a girl. Now those are some manly hands!

Here's my moneymakers, Laugh all you want
Your boss is going to have a hard time accusing you of being a slacker. You're wearing your dedication right there on those knuckles.

When I first got married 25 years ago, my wife wanted those callouses gone. she had me put vaseline on my knuckles and wearing gloves to bed. That didn't last very long before I got tired of it. Now she's proud of those knuckles believe it or not.
As for my boss,he's on here all the time, maybe you guys can convince him I need a raise.
Unfortunately, 90% of my work is stretch carpet. That's how my knuckles got to be that way.Stretch carpet is hard on the body.

nimrod, we are big boys and girls. We can handle a little gore. Especially if it worn as a badge of honor. Unless your pic is a sort of upskirt-type-thing...then you can keep it to yourself!!!
