The rep told me to take that off. He said on the original 499, the design was wrong. When I rebuilt it, I bought a new slide, shaft, everything that touched when it moved and it was the same problem. All I could get from Crain was, if I wanted to pay shipping and send it to them ,they would try to fix it. No guarantee that it wouldn't come back the same way. I have a cotton head that has never been used.
