Hardwood Floor Protection for Furniture

Hello. First time poster here and I hope I am posting this thread to the most appropriate area of the forum.

My question/problem has to do with trying to protect my hardwood floors from the hard plastic feet on my sofa and loveseat with something that will also keep them from moving and slip-sliding around the living room. I have a matched furniture set which includes a sofa, loveseat, and chair and they all have hard plastic triangular feet on the bottom which can not only scratch my nice hardwood floors but they also allow the furniture to slide around the room and not stay in place from just normal use.

I actually solved the problem with the chair by finding some 2" square caster cups with a non-skid rubber backing that not only provide protection from scratching but also keep the furniture from moving at all . . . they are perfect! The only problem is that the plastic feet on the sofa and loveseat are a bit larger so these 2" caster cups are too small for these pieces.

Does anyone have another solution, or perhaps know where I can get 2 1/2" or 3" square caster cups that would fit this furniture? Specific products with links would be appreciated. Have been struggling with this for many years so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advance!

Welcome to the forum c18tza33 ..
Just go to Home depot and pick up some self sticking felt .. they have them in different shapes , and also i think they are 6" x 8 " squares that you can cut with sissors to fit your legs ..

There might be something on this page: Surface Grip

I hope one of our members can help you more.

PS @ Nick: Felt will slide on hard surface. I think they are looking for non-skid type.

I took rug grip and fit all my sofas and love seats with it. Cut to fit and glue them on. Sofas do not move when you sit on them but, they are difficult to slide when you want to move them.

Slipstick, furniture sliding, chairs rolling, stop rolling, stopping wheels, placing casters

Largest I could find.

Chris,

What exactly is "Rug Grip" and where can I purchase it? Do you have a specific product link(s)? Also, what kind of glue do you use to glue it on to the feet of your furniture so that it stays attached?

Thanks much!! I think your solution might work well for me. Thanks to everyone else who provide responses as well!

I agree with Nick. In fact I buy these in bulk from home depot and put them on my client's furniture as a service.
