Mohawk Engineered

Several years ago I installed Mohawk's "New Haven" hickory in a customers home. Now they are wanting to do the rest of the home, and New Haven is discontinued. I have not had any luck with the local retailers, but have found on line (Mohawk) "Twin Falls" which looks identical. I have called what they consider "customer" service, and can not get a confirmation or denial as to whether the only difference is the "Scotch Guard" or not. They tell me that the thickness, the width, and the edges are all the same, but they don't know if the tounge and groves are the same. That is important as I have weave it into the previous floors.

If any of you have any insite on this .....PLEASE share.

Thanks, Jim

Re: Mohawk Engineered

Jim, the tongue and groove should be the same. I have not heard of them retooling. One thing you need to consider if you're going to weave the new product into the old product. You have a couple of things to consider. 1 is surface finish may have changed, including the Scots guarding as they put it. 2. You could be in a different cut here, which will change the appearance of the grain a little. Make sure you take some sample pieces and see if there is a difference. See if your supplier will give you some sample pieces to where you can check it out.

HAVE A GREAT DAY
