Re: Getting ready to start...

Wow! Hard to believe it's been nearly 2 months since my last post and to think I still haven't done the floors. I have managed to find some nosings and I did get a moisture meter. So at last with 20days off from work I am finally set to put down the floors. I do have a couple of questions regarding starting point. We are doing main and second floors as well as the staircase that connects them. The second floor and the staircase are ready to be worked so my question is, should I start flooring on the top of the stairs and work into the hall or should I complete the second floor toward the top of the stairs....OR should I start at the bottom stair working up and into the second floor hall.

Re: Getting ready to start...

Coming off the top nosing with the flooring is usually the safest way to get going. As you go into each room you have the opportunity to get yourself squared back up if you get off a bit. I save the steps for last.
