Lowes Natural Floors Brazilian Cherry ?

Has anyone used this before? I'm looking to install about 600 sq. ft in my first HW floor installation. On sale, it is about $4.50/sq. ft. It is 3 9/16" wide and 3/4" in depth. Seems like a decent price and it looked nicely finished but am curious if anyone has had experience with this brand/floor. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I've been looking at every store possible lately.

On a side note, I was told that I'd need to glue and nail any boards 4" or larger. Is this true? Would the 3 9/16" be fine if it's just nailed down? Thanks in advance for any thoughts - love the site and glad I found it BEFORE I attempt this project!

BTW, also looking at Lumber Liquidators Bellawood and Builder's Choice, which both seem to have quite a few lovers and haters...

One thing you might consider is how easy they are to be to deal with if you have a problem with the floor ..

I haven't had any experience with that particular flooring, but I agree with Nick.

Another consideration is whether it's an in-stock item or special order. I have NEVER seen a special order come in on time and have the right quantity of the correct item.

Also, if it is a special order, take into account that if you run short, you'll have to wait probably several weeks to get any more, and if you have an excess quantity left over, you're probably stuck with it.

Re: Lowes Natural Floors Brazilian Cherry ?

Thanks, guys - good points.

They did have enough in stock to finish my floor. I asked the guy if I could return bad boards and he said I could. I've read some up and down things about Lumber Liq. here and I know Lowes seems to have a generous return policy so I might be leaning that way. Thanks again.

Just be aware, this is one of the more dfficult wood floors to lay. Very hard wood and of the tongues have a tendency to splinter when installing. A 3 9/16 inch width is a plank not a strip. You will in all likelihood see gaps in the winter.

Not sure why you are getting recommendations to glue and nail. Nailing alone is the standard for installation.
