installing laminate on tile.

I am pricing options on flooring right now for about a 400sqft space that is a mix of an entryway with new but ugly tile and very ugly old damaged hardwood floors. I was looking at pergo laminate flooring to cover the whole area. I plan on having a professional to install it but i was wondering if I should perform demo on the tile and hardwood beforehand to save cash or do you think the floors could be installed right over the top? I wanted to have a clear idea of how I wanted to do it before I started to get quotes.

Laminate likes level. If the hardwood and tiles are at the same level, then you could have your laminate installed over top. If you could post pictures of these areas, the guys here can better advise you.

You can save some money by doing the pullup if it needs done. You may want to take that up for height clearances on thresholds and such. Anything done before we get there saves you $.

Yes. I would hope that the store they are purchasing it from would come to their house, measure, and tell them what needs to be done from a visual perspective. Without a picture here we're just guessing.
