Patagonian Rosewood questions
Hi all - newbie here !
I am planning to install 3/4x3" x4l 12"-84" Patagonian Rosewood on my first floor, replacing some kitchen vinyl and existing engineered cherry hardwood.
We are to the point of getting installation quotes but want to be sure that we are asking the correct questions in order to pre-qualify bidders based on expertise. I prefer to ask contractors to explain how they would handle a job and let them tell me instead of my asking leading questions which most always lead to a response of "of course we do".
As this is not a cheap floor, is an extremely hard wood I need to have as much information as possible. I think that I would discount anyone who did not tell me that he measured for humidity levels in boards and subfloor but that is pretty much all I know. My husband and I have built our own homes as he is a commercial contractor and everyone and his brother has offered to lay this floor and claims to know "all about that stuff". Ha!
On that note can the pros give me some things I should be sure to know before selecting someone and if anyone has any tips on the best way to find a qualified installer pass those along as well!
