Jim Oliver

I read elsewhere that one of our members, Jim Oliver(Jim Dandy) had passed away from cancer. I really don't know much about him, except he was an installer for years.

Re: Jim Oliver

If we could look up 'Installation Professional' in a dictionary, it would show a picture of Jim Oliver. Jim was truly one of the finest installers and probably one of the most conscientious professionals I have ever met. Jim Oliver was passionate about every aspect of this trade and he truly loved it and freely shared his passion and exceptional talent with others. I know I for one am a better installation professional for having had the opportunity to know Jim Oliver.

I was aware of Jim's battle and this is the first I've heard in many months and I must say, it is truly sad to hear. Our industry shines a little less bright without Jim Oliver in it.

Jim leaves behind a wonderful wife and his #1 supporter, Jeanine. My prayers and sincere condolences to the Oliver family & friends in this exceptional time of sadness and loss.

RIP Jim Dandy

Sincerely,

David Hunt

Re: Jim Oliver

It's always sad to hear of the passing of a flooring professional. But it's an especially sad moment because Jim was one of our Charter Members and just a really nice guy to have participate here.

My sympathies to his family and friends.

R'gards,

Jim

Re: Jim Oliver

Even though I never corresponded with James Oliver I feel like I've known him.

Before I joined this forum I was a part time reader only, at the other one. I was
so taken back by James Post on 6/6/08 titled " Letter to No one" and I'm sorry
that I never replied. I sat up most of that night writing a possible reply, but
never completed it or sent it out. I learned a lot about myself that night and I kept my notes. I would like to share with you this one message.

James, thanks for sharing your emotions, I understand, I thank you,
and Yes !! You DiD Make A Difference!!! RIP

To honor Jim's Memory I propose we take the time to recognize someone in
are lives who deserves are Appreciation. Lets call it " A Jim Dandy"

Mike, here's that thread James started on the FCI forum: "Letter to no one" on the FCI Message Board

Thanks and that's a great idea you have there too.

Jim
