Dennis "Corky" Pollard

Dennis (Corky) Pollard
Dennis Merle (Corky) Pollard, 61, El Dorado Springs, passed away on May 22, 2010, at Community Springs Healthcare in El Dorado Springs. He was born Dec. 22, 1948, in Modesto, CA, to Robert Lee and Donna Lee Pollard.

A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Rev. Joe Trussell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Corky was a tile setter. Always had a smile on his face. I didn't know him away from the store, but talked to him every morning when we both loaded up at the retailers. One of those people, I wish I would have got to know a little better.

I know how you feel Rusty. There's a few people out there I wish I'd taken the time to get to know too. Then all of a sudden it's too late. Sorry for the loss.

Sometimes life does not give us the opportunity to know all that pass our way. Corky was one of those people in your life. Wasn't it nice to know when you saw Corky he had a smile and great attitude to share with you and all others around him.

He is gone now, yet his smile and attitude lives on with you and now us. Lets be the same way as we go through life.

I'm sorry to hear that Rusty. He sounds like someone that would be great to see first thing in the morning with a smile and an upbeat attitude to start the day. He couldn't have been too bad having been born in Modesto. I was born about 10 miles south of there.

I'm sure he and his smile will be missed.

Amazing how the little things end up meaning so much.

Sympathies to those who knew Corky.
