Anyone been through INSTALL

Just curious, the Floor layers union of British Columbia is teamed with them. The course was a university level trade's skill from BCIT (British columbia, institute of technology), than went on to Kwantlen Pyrotechnic University, and is now provided out of the Union warehouse/Shop on Annecis Island in New west.

3 year course, I've got 2 years outside of it I'm hopen to be credited some for. It's also a Red Seal trade which from my understanding is required in eastern canada. Where here it's optional.

2000$ tax credit from the government for completeing 1st and/or 2nd year of the apprenticeship. Along with the tuition being reimbursed as another tax write off from what I read. May be wrong.

Re: Anyone been through INSTALL

Hi Jason. I have never gone through it but there was an open house here in the Detroit area about a month ago and Install was there. They had a couple of the apprentices doing some work. They look like they put ona good program if you are into union work.

Re: Anyone been through INSTALL

Jason, Where abouts in BC? I learned from several veterans of the trade and have gotten alot of skills that work for me from them. I went to an Armstrong 2 week class in the 80's which busted me into doing lino. The outline looks good and any of us would learn something new out of it and it sounds good for taxes for you. I know there are some differences in installing and products up north than what we have here. I looked into going up to a conference like our Surfaces that is in Canada because it is closer but its not to close this year. Someday. No I haven't been through INSTALL.

Well from what I've been told by the union reps I will be with a new journeyman every day. As to not pick up on any bad habits. Be quite the interesting experiance to do it like that!
