Re: orcon is back!
Right now it is just the tape portion, and not all the tape to start out with is what I am being told.

That's good news, and maybe they can simplify the tape names and quality while they are at it. How about 3 versions of XK 3" tapes for a start.
XK30 XK40 and XK50
All the same width webbing, and the only difference being the amount of adhesive for different backings to control the profiling.
And maybe add an EL20 tape for the hacks. (EL for el cheapo)
Same could be done for the 6" tapes by adding a "6" to the tape names. XK50-6 ..........naw, that would be too simple.

Re: orcon is back!
I don't use Orcon tape to begin with. Used to but it smokes and stinks to much. Besides I think they gave a whole bunch of employees a very raw deal the way the did things. I had some friends that worked there.
Most every tape company out there has an equal product and they are numbered about the same for ease of cross reference.

Re: orcon is back!
It all started to stink back when they put the skunk with the slash through it saying installer friendly. It was better before that. Me too, I am koolglide 100%.

Re: orcon is back!
I used CT11SB for years. Then it started to split, right down the middle.

Re: orcon is back!
Me too Rusty and had the same problem . We didn't know it at the time but ct-11 was never designed for heavy traffic. Just closet seams and the like.

I think that's where Orcon got it's bad reputation many, many moons ago. CT-11 was crap and it branded them for a long while as seams failed like Rusty said............. they split in the middle or just failed to do a decent bond............ and both.
Their XK tapes are the best out there in my opinion and it's all I use, so I'm glad to see they are back in business.

Re: orcon is back!
I've seen some of the xk heavy tapes split down the middle also. When you get that much adhesive over too soft of pad it will split every time.
