Pretty stuff, but too much character for such a small room. Anyway, it has to be something fairly trouble-free for the landlord, 'cause he'll be stuck with it when I'm gone. He isn't too interested in something a careless tenant can easily damage (this is low income housing).
I am still hopeful I can get Konecto for the main room, maybe a laminate for the bedroom. It's all concrete slabs in a 4-season part of the country. I just read that Konecto should have an underlayment on slabs in cold environments. You sell or install Konecto - is that true?
Globus cork has some pretty cool looking stuff. Their beveled edge products look great on walls.
Yeah, I'm pretty excited about getting the samples. They are some nice folks to talk with on the phone too.
Now that you brought his name up, yes. He is one of the 2 members who have been working very hard to get a flooring donation for me. He isn't having a lot of luck, mostly because the manufacturers and distributors are very reluctant in these economic times. I understand, but Mike and me and another great guy are continuing to try to get something. We are all working separately in different parts of the country, hoping some manufacturer or distributor or retailer will cave to our pleas. If any of you have contacts, your efforts on my behalf would be very much appreciated. All I can offer in payment is ad space and forum links to their websites. We do pretty well in Google and other search engines, so ads here for a period of time should be a very good deal for them.
When I do this Hotel in CT, I may have some extra material left over, unfortunately i still don't have any info on the material aside from general stuff. If you are not looking for anything specific, i could probably find something, if you are looking for some specific product, i can ask.

There are only 2 patterns I seem to like a lot in Konecto - Prestige, colors Beach and Sunset (Traditional also looks interesting). I haven't looked at any of the laminate flooring because there is just too many, but I do want to keep within those color areas. I need about 260sf for each room (my living area is 12x19 + a small entry, my bedroom is smaller, but there is a bathroom and closet that makes it all about the same size). I haven't got any real preferences for the bedroom, except that it shouldn't be too dark.

Haven't had any problems with the Konecto on slabs around here and that is the first I have heard about the need for the UL although it would add a bit of thermal break.
Too much character... , probably last as long or longer than Konecto as well.
You might as well just put in a cheap ceramic tile.
Careless tenants are the result of the landlords expectations.

With an area rug, I prob'ly don't have to worry too much about it then.

I don't think longevity is the issue. It's low income housing. I have seen these places after tenants move out and they are not in great shape. I can't imagine a hardwood floor holding up against spills, scratches and animals as well as Konecto in this case.

I never did ceramic (except an entryway and backsplash for myself), don't have the tools and might not be able to manage the grouting with the condition of my lungs. And, as I have mentioned before, I do want the look of wood - ceramic doesn't come thata way.

Please, that's on him, not me. I just want to get by with no conflicts. I will do my best to take care of my end of the bargain so I can have a fairly nice place to live. He likes his life the way it is and I ain't gonna try to change him.
I don't know about the rest of these guys, but I used to call them "reefer" - note the spelling. It has been a long time (24yrs for one, 3 for the other), but I handled plenty of both, so I knows what I speaks of.
