Re: trim issue

You could scribe and jigsaw. How many lineal feet are you talkin? If it's anywhere close to flat, you might get base shoe to conform with less scribing. Some caulk could be helpful being as it's painted. It can be tedious, but I can shape most any material to most any shape if I put my mind to it.

P.S. I never said it would be super easy.
But just think how satisfying it will be to see how good it looks when you're done!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: trim issue

I would rather caulk it than try to scribe it. I think he said there's several hundred feet of it, and I'm guessing it's pretty irregular on the face.

Re: trim issue

Since I am not a tile guy,(only tile I have installed is for my own small 3/4 bath)I am wondering why you dont use a 4 or 5 inch molding and install it first that would leave the molding height that you are looking for above the installed floor wouldn't it? then caulk the joint with clear or color matched to the moldings?

You know, that's not a bad idea. Makes me want to edit my earlier post so it looks like I thought of it first.

Re: trim issue

......well that is one way to do it. But I already have all the trim painted. So I think I will install a piece of 1" stock around the edge of the rooms, and then cut the tile to it and then set the 3" on top of that.....Good idea......why didn't Kman think of that.......

Re: trim issue

Not this month. My last day of work was the 1st of this month, and I'm not going back til the 2nd of December. That's what happens when you don't take hardly any days off during the year. You get to sit at home for 4 1/2 weeks letting your beard grow out, watching movies from Blockbuster, and rebuilding your shower.

Follow Tony's advice or KMan's suggesting to caulk if you don't want to scribe the base to the contour of the tile.
