Refer New Members To The Floor Pro Community

We are 50 members away from the 1,000 mark. Member number one thousand is only twenty-five away (duplicates and spambots have been deleted, which is why there is a difference). Let's have a quick and easy contest. Refer the most new members and win your choice between a Polo Shirt or a Cap embroidered with TheFloorPro.com logo.

You can refer new members in several ways. Post a link to TFP in your signature or posts on other forums, blogs and websites. Make contact with your fellow pros at distributors, retailers and among your other associations. Consumers can talk to other consumers and DIYers - even pass our address onto your retailer or installer. Ask people to enter your forum name as the referrer. Each of these new members MUST post at least one message. Whoever has the most referrals from member number 976 to 1025 wins the prize. In addition to that, the new member number 1000 will be given a logo printed T-shirt and Cap (these are transfers, not embroidery - I don't have that much dough, sorry).

Because not even a staff member would have an advantage in this contest, every member, including all staff (except for me, of course) is eligible for this contest. If you have won a contest in the last 6 months (or at any time), you are also still eligible. Absolutely no one is excluded. You only have to be a member as of this post.

Duplicate accounts are not allowed. If the new member has the same IP address as a current member or is in any way shown to be a fake or a plant, the referrer will be disqualified. If the new member doesn't post within the contest period (even just a short hello in this topic is good enough), their referral won't count. Valid email addresses are required and no new member referral will be counted without one. The referral count ends at member number 1025, but the contest ends 5 days later to give the new members time to make their first post and me time to research the empty referrals, if any.

Don't worry if a new member doesn't put a referral name in. I will quiz every new registrant that hasn't filled in that field to see if they remember who, where or under what circumstances they were encouraged to join. If it can be attributed to any single member here, they will get the point

Please don't spam other forums or email (posting an occasional link or sending a couple of emails is NOT spamming). We want to gain these new members honorably. Many of you have brought us new members already and it is very much appreciated. This time, I want to make it pay off for you. Good luck to all of you and I am looking forward to reaching that 1,000 member mark very soon.

Best Regards,

TFP Admin

Re: Refer New Members To The Floor Pro Community

Jerry was the first guy on the block to get a referral. Thanks, Jerry, and she asked a whopper of a question in the engineered hardwood over concrete - problem topic.

I want to make it easier for any of you that might not know how to make a link to us. If you know how to Copy & Paste, you can just do that with any of the examples in the code boxes below (the code box may contain more than one example, so please use only the one you want). Be sure to change the asterisk character (*) to your forum name.

If you would like your code to say something else, let me know and I'll show you.

If you have a website and would like to post a text link to us, let me know and I will write the code and anchor text for you. If you would like to use a small TFP logo, I have a handful in varying sizes and formats - just let me know.

Thanks all,

T

Re: Refer New Members To The Floor Pro Community

We still have 27 new members to go before it rolls over to 1,000 members, but only 2 more new registrations to go before member number 1000. If you have someone special in mind to be member number 1000, better let them know.

Re: Refer New Members To The Floor Pro Community

After a small problem, we have our 1,000th member: David Jones. David was referred here by Selva, so, a big THANK YOU to SLT for sending us yet another member (he's got 4 referrals under his belt since we started a year and a half ago).

And a big WELCOME to David Jones! I wrote David an email to let him know he won the prize for being our 1,000th member and he replied with this:

David posted once and I hope we will hear from him again and again.

If you are wondering about the difference between me announcing the winning new member as our 1,000th member instead of the member number 1,000 (the ID number we all have - you can see it when you hover your mouse over the member name in the top of each message or in the Who's Online box - the number appears at the bottom of the browser at the end of the address). Well, one of the people who wants to ruin what we have here at The Floor Pro Community, took the opportunity to register a fake member right after member number 999 was registered. Of course, I deleted the faker, but that did mean that no one would become member ID #1000.

So, I decided that the 1,000th member was just as important and notable as ID #1000. But of course, so did the guy who lays awake at night trying to figure out new ways to ruin what we have here. He registered twice more, hoping I guess, that at least one of them would get by as the 1,000th member. It's not that I'm all that smart - really, I'm not - but I am smarter than that guy, so I deleted both of those and then David joined. Even so, I do think the guy who enjoys playing games with me may have gotten a membership anyway, but at least he isn't anyone special.

Anyway, let's celebrate all our new members and give a special thanks to David Jones for joining. I also want to thank all our other members for doing your best to not only make this place a really great website, but for referring members to us directly, or by putting links to us in your messages on other forums, in emails and private messages and also for telling your friends and associates in person. It's a big help and we continue to have a growing and well rounded community.

We now have one more week left in the contest. That's because one of the rules is that the member you referred needs to post at least one message here to qualify you. The members who have been listed as the referrer during this contest are listed below. It's not a complete list. I will continue to try to contact those new members who did not put a referral name in their registration to find out who might have referred them. If a name can't be attributed to anyone that way, I will give the referral to whomever is the first person to reply to a new topic the new member starts. If the new member replies to an existing topic, I will give the referral to the topic starter. Either way, we will find a way to give a referral for all new participating members.

Referring Members:
Jerry
Jon Scanlan
al gladden
trishareporter
Tandy Reeves
Nick Arrera
Bill Watson
Danny Ferguson
selvalee
and possibly more unnamed referrers

Those of you who have been listed as the referrer, in some cases the new member has not posted yet. The referral only counts if the new member posts at least one message on the forum. I will also be contacting those new members in the next couple of days to remind them they have until next Saturday morning to post a message.

Good luck to all and welcome once again to David Jones.
