New contests are coming to
The Floor Pro Community this year. We will be starting the first one soon, featuring the
KoolGlide Seaming System as First Prize.
Better Tools is once again sponsoring another contest here at TFP.
Orcon has agreed to offer a very nice prize for one of our contests. And I am in contact with other potential prize and contest sponsors. It looks like 2009 will be a prize filled banner year for our members.
What does it take to win a prize? Well, for the contests and prizes mentioned above, you must be a participating member of
The Floor Pro Community. This is your engraved invitation to
join now, so you will be eligible for our next contest. In some cases, including the first contest this year, you must be a flooring professional. Once you have registered, reply to the welcome message you will receive automatically and provide your industry status information - the welcome message tells you what information you should provide.
Then participate. Some contests will require that you have a post count (a minimum of 5 messages in some cases), but these have to be quality posts. A simple agreement, a couple of smilies or a 3 word reply is not going to cut it. Some forums, like the off-topic and test forums don't build post count, so telling jokes, talking about your fast car or slow kid and practicing how to post YouTube videos won't count. We are more interested in your experiences, strengths and hopes for the flooring industry. We want your questions, gripes and issues. Help with your suggestions, critiques and the solutions that have worked for you.
And don't think I am leaving the consumer and do-it-yourselfer out of the contest loop here. I am in touch with potential sponsors that I hope will offer many prizes that even the non-flooring professional would love. You can let me know what kind of prizes you would be interested in by
contacting me via email, or post a reply to this topic.
I look forward to seeing new members and old helping to build on what we have started here. We have a great community of flooring professionals and accomplished do-it-yourselfers. We have made new friends, assisted each other and encouraged continued training and professionalism - and made it fun.
Please join the effort and maybe even win a great prize this year.
