Re: Win a Kool Glide Bonding System
Winning one doesn't look to be all the difficult. Go for it. There have already been plenty of ideas offered, or you can just share one of your own experiences with carpet seaming, repairs, starting a hardwood job, etc. Just don't forget to say something patronizing like, "gee, wish I had a KoolGlide to do all this stuff."

Heck, I thought Missouri was where everybody went when they got old and senile. Planned on moving there myself in a few years.

I heard Florida is just for the old folks. The old and senile ones are herded into Missouri.

Koolglide contest and me
Here's the scoop. I do not wish to be in the contest as I already have 2 of them and I'm basically retired and think they will last my lifetime and then some. So if there is some way not to count my posts or points that would be great or can they be donated to someone I think will do right by the tool and help them in any way other than just wanting one.
So I'm not sure how the count is actually taken but if I can help someone out with post count I would be glad to give you some ideas. I've seen a lot of good oportunities go by if it is post count.
So who wants them however it will work?

Posting a new topic about KoolGlide, like you did, is a sure way to enter the contest. So, I moved your post (and its reply) to the contest announcement topic. Now it won't be counted. Your replies to any topic that is a contest entry will help those who start the topics, as well as the person who makes the replies. But as I mentioned in the rules, quantity of posts does not guarantee you will win, quality will. Everyone should be aware that the contest benefits in 3 distinct ways. Number 1, of course, is being able to award a deserving person with a valuable prize. Number 2 is to provide the prize sponsor with good promotional value for their donation of a prize (we do not guarantee any prize donor or advertiser that they will not get negative feedback - the good sponsors appreciate the bad with the good so they can make their products or services better). And Number 3 is the quality of content available here at The Floor Pro Community that search engine spiders gather and index on their sites - this brings us new visitors and new members (you should know, though, that the private forums are for pros only and even search spiders can't go there - but they can go in the consumer/diy forums).
---
Once again, to enter the contest, you only have to meet 3 requirements: - Post at least one NEW TOPIC in any appropriate forum that is either about the KoolGlide, or about something else that a KoolGlide COULD be used - and be sure to mention the term "Kool Glide" in the post.
- Post at least one REPLY to any topic that is either about the KoolGlide, or about something else that a KoolGlide COULD be used - and be sure to mention the term "Kool Glide" in the post.
- Follow the rules listed in the first post of this announcement topic.
It's really simple. It's not complicated, but if anyone thinks it is, or has any kind of question about it, please speak up. We really want to award these prizes - but it's going to mean you have to compete for them. All of the staff will help you in any way we can.
R'gards,
Jim

Re: Win a Kool Glide Bonding System
I'm old, dumb and stupid so bear with me. Now if I don't mention the name of the tool it won't count toward me but help someone else who statrted the thread because I posted in it-Right? What if I use the term KG will that make a difference? I like the tool and would like to get the name imbedded into the minds and also help out the manufacturer if possible.
Do I make sense-I don't understand it myself.

Re: Win a Kool Glide Bonding System
I understand you, Daris. You don't have to change a thing. You don't have to choose your words carefully. Just don't start a NEW topic about using the Kool Glide. There's plenty to choose from to post your comments about the KoolGlide already, so stick to replies only.
When you start a new topic (when anyone starts a new topic) and it is about seaming or repairing carpet, repairing laminates or decorative tile, starter rows of hardwood, or any other thing that you either do, could or want to use a Kool Glide for, that is the primary contest entry.
Replies in any of those kinds of topics will not be counted as part of an entry unless you have a NEW topic start too. All replies to those kinds of topics, regardless if they are from a contestant or a non-contestant, help the topic starter. If the replies to existing topics are from contestants, they help them too. So, a contestant MUST help another contestant (or more than one) as part of their entry.

Re: Win a Kool Glide Bonding System
I am glade to see the contest going so good. As you can see their are endless ways to use the Kool Glide and their stic's.
I have not had to much time to post but I do try and jump on fast to read.
My vote so far is for rusty.
Jim, keep me off the list for I have two pro's and one pro-w so I would like to see someone who does not have one win it.
PS. As a gift I will throw in a new seamer down to the winner.

Re: Win a Kool Glide Bonding System
That is a very generous offer, Roland. I will let you contact the winner of the contest about that (or the winner will contact you) - their name will be announced late Sunday night/early Monday morning. The winner will be selected by a vote of the staff members.
Thank you very much.
