And the KoolGlide Winners are...
Congratulations to our winners of the KoolGlide Bonding System Contest, First Place - Chris Mha, Second Place - Don Monfils and Third Place - kwfloors. It was a tough competition and a lot of information and discussion was generated by all the entries. The winners contact info has been passed along to our prize sponsor, Len Perkins of KoolGlide, and prizes will be sent out shortly. Just to remind you of what these great prizes were:
First Prize, choice of a KOOLGLIDE Pro model, most commonly used for carpet seaming and repairs, or the KOOLGLIDE Pro-W model that has a smooth bottom for better adhering wood, ceramics and other solid materials, as well as seaming and repairing carpets. This prize is accompanied by a case of mixed KoolGlide Seam Tapes and a bag of Kool Stics glue sticks.
Second Prize is a case of mixed KoolGlide Seam Tapes
Third Prize is two bags of Kool Stics glue sticks.
You can learn more about these great products at the KOOLGLIDE website.
Congratulations to the winners once again and thank you very much for all the participants in this contest for sharing your information, resources and valuable opinions with The Floor Pro Community.

Thanks for the contest! It would be fun to know the numbers but I can't wait to use the Koolsticks. Someone knows what I need.

Re: And the KoolGlide Winners are...
Hi kw,
The numbers are available by looking at all the posts. You can visit each member's profile and click the link that says to find all that member's posts or the topics they started. But, as I said at the beginning of the contest, the numbers couldn't be relied on to determine the winners. It was a combination of factors and the personal opinions of each staff member on the quality of the posts. So, the results were determined by subjective opinion in combination with the actual post numbers - and don't forget the numbers of views the topics got. It was complicated. I hated it. Just ask any of the staff members who the biggest whiner was when we discussed it.

Re: And the KoolGlide Winners are...
Hey Roland, I appreciate the offer for the SDN, but I already have one. Perhaps Don or KW could use one. I see no reason for me to have two of them and I am more than satisfied with the Kool Glide.

Yet, you were the one who designed it!!

I know and I think I did a terrible job of it. I wanted it to be an easy contest where people would post about all kinds of things - things that a KG could possibly be used for - but it seemed like most people thought they had to post about the KG, no matter how many times I said they didn't. I think I just couldn't manage to put the words together to give the contest a simple explanation and encourage a lot more members to enter. I really wanted people to enter that didn't have a KG, but only a few did.
But I gotta quit beating myself up over it. I'll just have to do better on the next contest. We had an offer from Orcon, but I'm not sure how that will pan out now that they are shutting their carpet tool devision down. I also have a box of goodies from Better Tools sitting in my living room. So, we have something coming up soon that might redeem me.
Maybe I should ask the members what kind of contest to have next. Start a new topic to collect the ideas and whoever comes up with the best idea for the next contest wins a TFP hat. Then we'll have a contest based on the winning idea. Just a thought, if someone wants to run with it.
