I had an apt complex that I did here for about ten years. A man was the maintenance man and his wife was manager. They were always good to me. When things were slow in the winter, they always managed to find some work. About 3 years ago, it was sold to an out-of-town company and she lost her job and they brought in their own installer. Last spring he called me and asked me to install some carpet. His wife had brain cancer. He had fixed up an old rental near them that belonged to a mutual friend, so their son and granddaughter could live close. I had leftover pad that I donated and installed the carpet free. I had forgot about it until she passed away last weekend. I don't expect accolades, this is just what you do for friends. Now some of the rest of you that have done stuff like this and I know you have, tell your stories.

Rusty to hear that just tears your heart out. But make no mistake my friend you were a ray of sunlight for that young man and yes the demons won this time, but you stood tall and keep on doing so. God bless you.

Our condolences, Rusty. It sucks to lose someone younger, despite their dispensation for self-destruction. Move on. We feel for you.

Keep your faith in the world, life. and God. Every other week somebody kills their kids, their family, etc. Then they kill theirself. I hate to say this, but if you are on that track, and you do not have a solution, don't kill your kids and spouse. I won't lie to you guys I had some issues when I was younger, and i had to deal with many things, life is not always easy.

When you are depressed, suicide seems like an easy solution, I lost several friends that way. One was 100 meters from the ER when he went. One jumped off a bridge during rush hour, it is messed up. Amazingly, as much as I contemplated suicide as a youth, I now do not want to die, I know I will eventually (die) but I would prefer later than sooner.

Despite all of my flaws, I decided to leave a foot print on this world. It may not be that deep, it may not be substantial, but I try.
