Harry, about the previously mentioned single/double thread issue...
This is a photo of the landing I sewed up................ On a landing, because of it's use or abuse, what warrants a double stitch? I always figured that more is better.............. You know.......... It's a 'guy' thing.
What does double thread do. Does it give it strength. What gives the sewing the strength. Is it the thread or the latex. What does the thred do. Also what does the latex do for the thread. Also I spoke of proper tention one that hand sews all the time will know what I mean with out discussion. Sewing is an art it is a matter of feeling.

Thread cost is certainly not a factor so what is. Professionalism. Lo down once again whether or not you double stitch . There is no need to . Lo -down Im sorry I come off the way I do. If me and David were to team up we would be the tag team champions. What would happen in that case we would learn techniques from one another. Look the guy I hired now . He did work for Oprah Winfrey and etc I dont want to mention anymore. It is a game of learning. We all do it. I am not your enemy.
For goodness sake.......... guys like you and David are the ones we all look up to. Woven is a science that most installers never even have a chance to experience. I have certainly done some.......... but always feel a wee bit uncomfortable. Knowlege spread by you 'woven pros' is the only way most of us can learn............. yes, even if you and he differ in the methods you use. This thing as you call it...."a game of learning" has to start somewhere. When you guys teach the basics, the rest of us have a 'starting point' to grow from, just as you did at some point.

By the way... you come off fine. You may be a bit blunt sometimes in your answers...... but that does not in any way lessen the experience we gain. Be yourself and say what you feel............ we are big boys.
I'm learning as we speak and canceling a shipment of 100 rolls of waxed linen thread. I see that I might only need 50 of em now.
Keep doing what you do Harry.

lo down , When I use a locking stiich it is on a small pattern. By locking the stitich it creates less travel. This can occur in a long seam. I would lock my stitch maybe every ft. Also another time to use a lock stitch is when you are going to cut through the material. For instance on an installation wall to wall I would lock a few inches.

This is another question to stumble on what warrants a doble thread on lets say a piece if Mark inc or Stark for that matter. On a Karistan axminster sure you could use a double thread anything wrong with it no. Would I use a doudle thread no .
