CFI had a training in Minneapolis this past weekend at the Mowhawk warehouse. I invited Peter Kodner to attend and get the chance to meet him. What a enjoyable experience it turned out to be.
WHAT A PROFESSIONAL. Peter came for the seminar portion of the training as well as the hands on portion the following day. He also added his input. At noon when we were having lunch he brought in his inspectors kit and told the installers and us how it all worked. He also sold us what he was looking for in an inspection. When he could he backed us as trainers up on the info we were putting out. Its great to know that inspectors can be an installers friend as well and not always his enemy.
I know this had to be one of the most knowledgable seminars that these installers have ever been to. We got nothing but positive feed back from the people that came. It really makes you feel good when an installer comes up to you and thanks you and shakes your hand and saying if I see your name on a seminar I will be there. Its a great feeling. What a great time.
Thanks again Peter for all your knowledge and professionalism. And it was really great to meet you. I'm lookiing forward to the next time we hook up.
Boy, . I was going to put up a thread myself saying how much I enjoyed meeting Daris in person and what a pleasure it was to watch him, Tim and Kelly run this CFI program . The truth is though, Karen (Daris' much fairer half) was the glue that made it all stay together
AND YES, I learned from attending too (in case it is not obvious, I do not know everything). It has been far too long since I have been with a group of installers that had such obvious regard for their craft and the desire to keep getting better at it . I was very impressed with the scope of information covered and the practical application of it.

BTW, Daris was gracious enough to allow me to pass out a whole mitt full of TFP cards. Not only did all of the attendees take one, but the other two instructors did as well. Hopefully we will see a few new faces here soon

Peter is an excellent choice for this Spotlight on Professionalism forum, Daris. I know first hand his dedication to this industry and the work he enjoys. I've had a few phone conversations and shared many emails and PM's with Peter that have proved to me what an asset he is to floorcovering and to TheFloorPro.com. Thank you for bringing him to the attention of so many others. And thank you, Peter, for being the dedicated and concerned professional that you are - and for being my friend.

Kidding aside, I do thank both of you for your kind words. I am humbled.
Having had phenomenal examples in my Grandfather, father and mother (all were in the biz), I simply do not know any other way to be. The flooring industry has been very good to my family and myself and I hope I am always able to give something back.

You could have left out the picture on eating so well in Minnesota. As with most all CFI trainings/certifications we have pizza. Good thing I like pizza especially after doing almost 120 certifications. Sometimes its pizza Friday evening and Saturday at noon. I did a double cert in Fla where it was pizza 4 meals in a row. And the pizza was nasty.

My hat is off to you Peter. Anyone who will fly, drive or walk to help in any way with any industry, especially a CFI event really shows they want to improve the industry. The likes of you, Daris, and Roland are rare.
