18 years in September

(i was just helping a friend out one day

) i remember one day when we were sitting in the bar talking about how much carpet we had done. then wondering if it would go around the world (miles)

I was licensed in 1985, and started in 1979. I think it was in September, so that makes 29, as of right now.

Hard to say, I started helping my dad as a kid, I won't count most of those years. Figure 20 years total including a couple years of sales.

I have had 29+ years of carpet yarn manufacture and 9 years as an inspector. My 9 years as an inspector mean that I am a rookie in the flooring business. Love my job.

Well, thanks, Jim, but when I set up our profile, there was only room for one birthday, so it was Dave's. No worries. I don't get a spa day off for it, have to work like every other day in the week.

I understand you still haven't grown a full head of hair.

BTW does CFI have any young people in an apprentice training program? Out of 41 pros that have entered their years in the business only one (1) has 5 years, and the next is 12 years. As rg stated in post #50, this industry is running out of people.
