Ok guys, repeat after me, " I AM NOT WORTHY "
Alright Mr. Admin , that's enough for right now.... they cried Uncle
Lets see some in progress pics. I wanna see how it's done........... lot's close ups so I can learn wood stuff.
The people I worked, Dennis & Marilyn Cook, are the nicest people you'll ever run into. Dennis now runs a home inspection business and is real particular and has all kinds of nice testing equipment along with a good camera. So everyday he would take alot of photos. Long story short is i was able to accumulate alot of photos for stuff like pictorials.
I started working on a herringbone pictorial and you can go here to view what I've done so far Picasa Web Albums - Jerry - Prefinished B...
I am going to see if the Admin wants to use this for an article when i get it finished. I can't write very well.
Re: Jerry Thomas: Winner ProSource Fantastic Floors Contest
Thank you Floorguy and Hooknife, I'm not at all worthy but i do appreciate it.
I entered this contest on a lark, just happened to finish that job and then found out ProSource had a contest going. I did not realize at the time that ProSource has alot of large designing outfits as members. I should have known but never gave it much thought.
This contest was for any type floor covering in a particular setting, It could be carpet, tile, hardwood, laminate, lvt... anything they sell. Somehow ol Jerry entered and beat them big dogs . Thats what I really feel honored about. I am just a regular ol' everyday schmuck that tries to go out everyday and just do the best he can do. The money was secondary to me.... and its gone now anyways
Re: Jerry Thomas: Winner ProSource Fantastic Floors Contest
Jerry, That is some realy nice work. You can see your pride not only in the photos put in your humble writing on the topic. Again nice work and keep showing what use small time smucks can do.

Re: Jerry Thomas: Winner ProSource Fantastic Floors Contest
Roland, did you mean schmuck?
And did you call Jerry one?
You better look that up in a Yiddish dictionary
Not a nice way to describe anything or anyone

Could it be that they are just every day schmucks too?
(tho better dressed and with larger egos)
Maybe we see others that do nice work as "the big dogs" we admire............ not realizing that we.... are them......... but not in our own humble eyes?
I.... like you Jerry .....have way too much humble in my soul.
Damn I'm good!!!
Say it Jerry.............. say it!!!
If this made any sense to you Jerry.............. I am going on a speaking tour and selling tapes as the new Tony Robbins ..... and makin' them big bucks.

Re: Jerry Thomas: Winner ProSource Fantastic Floors Contest
I didn't single you out.... I called those other guys schmucks too
Not you Jeff...er.. I mean LoDown. I was talking about Roland... but you are one of my hero's too.
Ok........I will have to use use Jerryspeake... the people who hire me to do something get their moneys worth each and every time.... no matter if it's a .99 cent laminate or a 15 dollar a ft. hardwood. I'm going to do either one the best I know how. I think I am a real bargain

Ha ha haaa........... what an ego I have. I skipped right over Roland and Peters posts............ it was the beer I tell ya...... all three of em. Glad I didn't say something 3 MORE beers later.
I think all of us that 'waste our time' on these forums care a lot about the end result.
The guys that never visit flooring forums worry me............ do they know it all? .... or simply know that the rules are either shiney side or fuzzy side up? .... or most likely, they don't take pride the way we do.
Funny but sad....... there are probably a few hundred installers that visit flooring forums on a regular basis................. yet there are untold thousands of installers.
Glad you are one of the good guys Jerry.
